Job Description: A well established Mobile, Alabama corporation is in need of a Marine Claims Adjuster. Excellent opportunity, great benefits. The salary is very competetive and based on experience.
Job Purpose: Management of Corporate and Divisional Marine and Non-Marine Property Loss and Damage claims, Maritime Employers Liabilities and Third Party Property Damage and Injuries.
Essential Job Functions: Provide initial notices of losses and claims to Corporate and Division Management, Brokers, Underwriters and Attorneys as required.
Liase with Loss Control Directors for claims causation analysis; Adjust,negotiate and settle claims within Corporate retentions and Underwriters limits with appropriate approval levels.
Handle or Coordinate claims in litigation with legal counsel as assigned, provide monthly, quarterly and annual reports of incidents, accidents and injuries status and reserves to Management as required.
Minimum training and experience required: Licensed Marine Claims adjuster preferred with minimum 5 years experience.
College degree in Management preferred, will consider an exceptional candidate with equivalent training and experience.
Necessary special requirements: Licensed adjuster or examiner with minimum 5 years experience within the Marine Industry preferred. Alternative experience within the Marine Industry or Medical Claims Industry can be considered based on qualifications and experience.
Position Supervisory Responsibilities: Will supervise 1-5 administrative staff plus coordination with independent adjusters or Managing General Agents.
