Job Description:
A Data Modeler is needed for major client located in Columbus, Ohio.
Candidate will design, develop and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models for Enterprise Data Warehouse in ERWIN.
Responsibilities:
1. Leads physical and logical data model design for EDW enhancements and projects
2. Analyzes business user requirements in order to define data requirements for new analytics and reporting
3. Translates requirements into logical and physical data models using ERWIN
4. Maintain and administer enterprise data model tool-ERWIN data mart
5. Extensive experience on Data Modeling and be the Data Model Expert on the team
6. Define Data Modeling and ERWIN Standards
7. Define and monitor data governance, standards and best practices
8. Define and capture metadata and business rules associated with ETL processes
9. Prepares Technical Specs for data architecture
10. Develop source to target data mappings
11. Collaborates with other team like ETL, Microstrategy, DBA and Prod support teams to implement data model design and development
12. Performs data profiling to understand the structure and completeness of data for the purpose of source selection, correctness, and improved quality.
13. Define data quality and audit checks
14. Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership
15. Proactively develops and maintains technical knowledge in specialized areas remaining up to date on current trends and best practices.
Salary: $90,000.00+ / DOE
Experience Level:
5+ Years
Requirements:
1. BS degree and at least 7 years of experience in IT
2. 5 years experience as a data modeler/architect for multi-terabyte data warehouse projects.
3. 5 years experience on developing logical and physical data models preferably 2 years with Retail Industry Data Model.
4. 5 years experience working with ERWIN tools
5. 3 years of Physical Model experience on Teradata
6. 3 years SQL experience
7. 3 years experience with indexing, partitioning and data design performance with Teradata
8. 2 years experience using data profiling tools
9. Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must
10. Strong relational and dimensional data modeling and database design skills
11. Extensive knowledge of retail business domain
12. Basic understanding of ETL design and development skills
13. Expert skills with database management tools, methodologies, and technologies exhibited through a portfolio that demonstrates best in class end to end data models that include multiple large and small scale data sources and complex applications that may include data warehouses and transactional systems.
