Our client, a major brokerage firm located in downtown manhattan is looking for a Business Analyst/Project Manager with good experience JAD Sessions, gathering requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interface with clients to define and track requirements
- Provide production support to clients and track issues to resolution
- Develop ad-hoc reports for clients to meet their tactical needs
- Participating in application and database design
- Draft report prototypes using tools such as MS Word and Excel for clients and development team
- Handling programming tasks in building application functionality on occasion
- Performing the QA role to test new application releases from development team
- Scheduling and managing application releases
- Produce documentation such as Business Process workflows, System Analysis documents, Functional Spec, Technical Specs, Test cases, Project Plans
- Channel business-critical issues to vendors support team for quick resolution
Required Work Experience:
- At least 5+ years of experience as BA/PM responsible for enterprise system working in/for Investment Banking domain
- Manage financial systems and provide liaison function with business units and technology teams
- Management of a development team of more than 4 members (not including themselves)
- Experience with custom application development projects involving MS-SQL and Microsoft .NET platforms
- Good oral & written skills
- Requirements gathering techniques (Interviewing or JAD Facilitation)
- Experience in producing project plans & resource plans

Required Technical/Business Skills and Knowledge:
- MS-SQL 2000/2005
- ASP.NET, C#
- Database Design
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including writing proposals, specifications, and presentations
- Must have good organizational skills and the ability the track and prioritize several tasks
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Professional demeanor and ability to handle a fast paced, high pressure user base
- Willing to learn new technologies
Desirable Technical/Business Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience in multi-tier web based applications using HTML, XML, HTTP, Javascript, C#, ASP.Net, T-SQL and IIS is highly desirable

Desirable:
* Concentrated industry expertise in financial services ( Fund Accounting, Investment Accounting, Equities, Private Equity, Alternative Invetment, Investment Banking, Fund Management) or accounting.
* Someone who has worked for one of the BIG 5 consulting companies like Accenture, KPMG, Cap Gemini, etc.
* Experience in a consulting environment (i.e., working on projects for external clients) a plus.
