Job Description: Position Responsibilities
This role is 85% systems engineering/support and 15% network engineering/support.
Candidate will be responsible for racking, configuring, installing and troubleshooting OS and applications on server-class systems running Windows.
Manage and maintain an Active Directory domain.
Lead monthly patching of Windows servers in a production environment.
Candidate implements and makes recommendations for systems enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system.
Responsible for installing, decommissioning, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all Windows server operating systems and network connectivity.
Lead in identifying potential servers for migration, and migrating servers and their services to remote data centers.
Responsible for administering VmWare servers.
Responsible for analyzing and optimizing power and A/C systems in the data center.
Candidate will be required to install and maintain Cisco telecommunication and local area network hardware, software and data communications.
Responsible for WAN, firewall, and VPN Concentrator configuration and support
Analyzing and resolving drops in server and network performance
Responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting network protocols and services. Support, monitor, and troubleshoot hardware and software problems pertaining to LAN and WAN
Configure and maintain system monitoring solution (What?s Up Gold Distributed). Take lead on employing and maintaining the monitoring system across sites.
Assist in backup planning and disaster recovery drills.
Identify, research, and resolve technical problems. Document, track, and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution.
Documents all related processes.

Requirements: Position Requirements:
Must possess strong hands on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WINS, IIS, Security, Microsoft Clustering, and system backups/recovery.
Must possess strong hands on experience with Routers, Firewalls, VPN, Layer 2 and 3 switches, managed switches, raid arrays, SAN and NAS.
Candidate must have experience administering and troubleshooting remote access Cisco VPN Concentrator and Pix/ASA firewall.
MCSE 2003 and CCNA Certifications a big plus
Implementing and troubleshooting VPN site-to-site connectivity.
Familiarity with Design, Maintenance, Monitoring, Performance Management and troubleshooting of backend storage area networks in Microsoft environments.
Minimum of 5+ years experience as lead Network Administrator, 3 years of experience with administering Windows 2003 Server, 2 years of MS Clustering experience
Familiarity with VMware ESX server.
Familiarity with data center infrastructure, including wiring and cable management, and identifying UPS/Power and A/C requirements
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully, develop alternative solutions, and work well in a group problem-solving situation.
Effective communication with employees, immediate manager, and other department managers.
Experience leading technical projects involving participants from multiple areas of the company. Solid written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work without direct supervision. Strong initiative require.
Must be able to work after hours as needed.
Must be available for rotating on-call pager.
