Job Description: RESPONSIBILITIES: In need of a Network Engineer for a rewarding opportunity supporting next generation biometric systems for the DoD Next Generation ABIS contract in Fairmont, WV. The project includes support for the legacy application and production systems as well as the development of the new, fully integrated next generation of technologies including Windows and Linux operating systems, connected with Storage Area Network (SAN) technologies. Primary responsibility is network design, implementation, administration and monitoring of the multiple networks between the primary and secondary data centers. This position augments the current Sr. Engineer on-site. Secondary responsibilities may include support of existing systems and environments . Day-to-day responsibilities as determined by Chief Engineer. Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm
Experience Level: 5+ Years
Requirements: REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Requires mid- to senior-level Cisco Internetworking Engineering experience; 5+ years experience with implementation and administration of Cisco equipment, including routers, firewalls, switches. Familiarity with current Cisco IOS, design experience with 45xx, and 65xx series Catalyst Switches, design of high availability network infrastructure practical knowledge of Internet protocols and routing strategies; practical experience with complex VPN solutions. Minimum of CCNA-certification required; CCNP a plus. Requires technical writing and documentation skills, ability to work with large and a diverse group of people for troubleshooting, gaining information, etc. Some minor local travel between facilities may be expected. Experience in the following areas is required: Experienced with Enterprise Class Switching and management including Cisco Catalyst 4500 and 6500 series switches; Cisco ASA firewalls; Cisco MARS; Secure architecture design; VPN; Wide Area Network design and configuration; Cisco router configuration; Securing network devices for DoD network standards; * Cisco 3800 series routers; Internet and routing protocols. Bachelor's degree required plus 9 years work experience required. Four years of experience can be in lieu of degree is accepted. Candidate must have 9 years experience with Network Engineer.
