MSL109: Software Developer PB40
PowerBuilder Client/Server and Web-based Visual Studio.Net environments
- Must have 5 years progressively more responsible
PowerBuilder experience, including dynamic data
windows, data stores, object oriented, work on
foundation class library members
- Must have 3 years progressively more responsible Web
based experience with dynamic database driven web
sites , including development use of Visual Studio, use of
JavaScript, use of C#, use of ASP.Net and (desired but
not required) AJAX experience
-Must have 5 years Oracle RDBMS (V 9i or 10g
required), SQL tuning, PL/SQL development skills,
including the development of stored procedures
- Must have excellent communications skills
- Must have 3 years Data Modeling experience
- Must have 3 years Analysis and design experience
Jad/Rad methodology experience desirable
- Must have experience with a State Automated Child
Welfare Information System
This environment requires that proposed candidates be very proficient in both client/server systems development using PowerBuilder (V 10) and web-based systems development using Visual Studio.Net (Version 2005), with some exposure to the other technology strongly desired. The selected developers will have high-level skills in both client/server and web-based systems implementation.
All candidates must have strong Oracle DB skills, preferably including experience in data modeling, stored procedure development, data conversion and loading and related tasks. All candidates must be capable of successfully performing analysis and design tasks as well as coding,
testing, implementation and system tuning. JAD/RAD methodology is used to refine system functionality leading to successful implementation; therefore, all candidates must have strong communication skills and to elicit suggestions from users for necessary improvements to existing functionality before implementation proceeds.
We prefer candidates for these positions who have experience with large-scale systems development, including skills such as architectural design, data base design, scheduling and task management, and communications with user-side management.
