Job Description:
Title: Java Developer
Location: Alexandria, VA
Duration: 3 Months Contract to Perm
This is Temp to Perm position for Senior Software Engineer/Professional, with main focus on software development, maintenance of multiple applications supporting large volume of data on UNIX servers.
Looking for a person who has solid Java/J2EE development background, as well as Struts, Crystal Reports and Oracle skills. This position needs a senior candidate who is self motivated, follows through on the details and can effectively communicate with the client.
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Bachelor?s degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred.
· Eight or more years of programming experience with minimum of 4 years of hands on J2EE/Java. design and development experience and good software development skills.
· Experience working with software design principles and writing software documentation.
· Experience working with open source tools such as Struts, Tiles and Ant.
· Strong relational database experience and solid understanding of PL/SQL.
· Solid experience in developing, testing, debugging, implementing, and documenting highly complex programs. Experience developing complex test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs.
· Designs systems and programs to meet highly complex business needs. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs are developed and coded. Creates appropriate documentation in work assignments such as program code, and technical documentation.
· Gathers information from existing systems, analyzes program and time requirements. Assists project manager in preparing time estimates and justification for assigned tasks.
· Good interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members.
· Good communication skills to interact with team members and support personnel.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Experience with UNIX, AIX platforms beneficial.
Experience with RAD, WepSphere Application Server, Rational Clear Case, PVCS, Quality Center a plus.
