Job Description: The Computer Merchant, LTD is currently seeking a Technical Writer to provide support for a Fortune 200 integrator in their client's facility in San Diego, California.

Essential Functions:
· Coordinate technical writing projects.
· Research, write, edit and proofread complex technical data for use in documents or sections of documents such as manuals, procedures and specifications.
· When required provide clients with information regarding technical areas in a less technical way.
· Determine the scope and timeline of new documentation projects in order to plan the projects.
· Coordinate project plans and determine the resources, etc, necessary to complete the project.
· Interview technical personnel, including programmers, engineers and developers, to gather information used to develop technical documents.
· Read previous documentation and design notes and use computer based training or Enterprise technical products to gather and research complex technical information for use in documentation.
· Write, organize, enter and compile complex online help files to support end users.
· Create, compile and deliver complex system/software developmental documentation packages including but not limited to narratives, logic diagrams, input and output samples, input preparation instructions, job setup information, etc., from technical project team inputs, systems requirements analysis, system design specifications, technical system design, technical procedure development, configuration control requirements, test and training specifications and programming notes.
· Assist in establishing style guidelines and standards for texts and illustrations to meet Enterprise needs.
Essential Knowledge:
· Four or more years of technical writing experience
· Experience working with desktop publishing, word processing and on-line documentation software
· Experience working with industry writing style such as grammar, sentence form and structures
· Experience working with Enterprise software products
· Strong communications skills
· Personnel computer and business solutions software skills
· Strong proofreading and editing skills
· Ability to convert technical knowledge into easily understood terms
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Organizational and time management skills
· Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
The following qualifications are highly desirable:
· Experience with Visio, Oracle Tutor and Adobe Acrobat is highly desirable
Essential Education:
· Bachelor?s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
