Data Center Operations - Production - Specialist I
Provides operational support for systems hardware, peripherals and software within data centers and related facilities. Identifies, isolates, and resolves problems. Works in conjunction with the Technical support staff to implement immediate resolutions to more critical problems. Work with Operations personnel to identify areas of possible automation and/or improvement to provide better customer service, enhance problem resolution techniques. Understands and manages problems utilizing defined Problem and Change Management Policies and Procedures. Provides all or many of the following services: Monitor systems consoles for problems, manage systems availability, production scheduling and control, reports distribution, service level support, administration and controls, equipment operation, backup recovery, procedural documentation, and execution of the disaster recovery plan.
The Production Specialist I level provides a high level of support within data center production services. Provides production services support for applications batch processing within data centers and related facilities. Associates at this level are expected to have a specialty background on more than one system. Controls batch scheduling for one or more complex computer systems. Monitors performance of systems utilizing software support tools. Ensures emergency operating procedures are maintained. Interfaces with customers and appropriate support groups to resolve complex issues. Depending on assignment, may handle hardware or software support for associated data center equipment. Requires 6+ years of experience in production services and thorough knowledge of emergency operating procedures, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Job Responsibilities Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions and is searching for a Data Center Operations Specialist for our Document Services Unit. The purpose of the team is to provide customers with high quality and timely delivery of forms used in daily operation as well as ad-hoc mailing coordination.
Candidates must have business forms development experience, including design and implementation processes. Knowledge of Job Control Language (JCL), U.S. postal standards, basic mailing concepts and experience are preferred. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access is desired. Applicants must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral. The candidate will function in a team environment in a unit of cross-trained associates
Required Skills US Government Client mailing standards and basic mailing conceprts with 2 years minimum.
OS JCL coding for exec and proc members with a 2 year minimum.
Desired Skills Experience with MS-Office suite to manage documents.
Distributed systems experience (Unix and/or Wintel) is also desirable.
Minimum Education High school diploma required, Associate's degree or technical training in related field desired.
