Job Description: The Computer Merchant Ltd. is presently recruiting for a Software Tester to support a client in their facility in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Position: Software Tester ? Mercury Testing Tools
Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts Duration: This is an initial 3-month contract opportunity with potential for extension/conversion to permanent employment
Policies: Must be able to complete and pass both a drug test & background investigation
Rate/Salary: Open for Negotiation
Overview: Seeking a candidate with experience using automated test tools such as HP Mercury Test Director, Win Runner, Quick Test Pro or Team Foundation to perform functional testing.
Essential Job Functions
Design and develop test plans, traceability matrices, test cases and test scripts from requirements, use-cases, design documents and other project documentation
Determine conditions under which tests are to be conducted Identify data requirements and create data Manually execute test scripts to validate functionality Report and track defects resulting from the test effort Participate in peer reviews for requirements and technical specifications Lead peer reviews for test plans and cases Support concurrent projects in an organized manner Provide status and metrics reporting to management and project team members Proactively recommend and support process improvements
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering or related field preferred Seven or more years of testing experience Experience working with computer systems and their uses Experience working with scripting languages such as TCL, PERL, HP, etc Experience working with data transmission protocols such as TCP/IP, etc. Experience working with operating systems Experience working with protocols and technologies such as HTTP, SSL, FTP, SMTP, POP3, etc. Experience working with network equipment: switches, routers, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, etc.
