Job Description:
**MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE OR HIGHER**
This Sr. Staff Engineer will be responsible for Oracle technology engineering efforts and ensuring projects are delivered with the highest quality of design and implementation that are consistent with client's technology guidelines and infrastructure standards. Success of performance will be measure based on sound technical judgment, timely execution of deliverables, project coordination with cross-functional teams (product, technology development, architecture consortium, systems engineering, QA, and deployment). The Oracle engineer will work with architecture and engineering managers to produce technical specifications documentation consistent with the functional requirements document.
Minimum Professional and Technical Skills:
The Sr. Technical Staff-Oracle must have in-depth understanding of development project life cycle including: technical design, implementation, unit/integration testing, deployment strategy, and post-deployment maintenance. Skills required include: design and implementation of Oracle applications, database schemas, Oracle PL/SQL, Oracle RAC, and other Oracle technologies. This position will also be expected to provide Tier 3 support and identify problems with Oracle technologies. Must have extensive experience in all phases of the database architecture, design and implementation process. Must have had experience interfacing with user for requirement gathering and architecting the database and infrastructure to support it. Additional skills include:
- Hands on experience with Oracle, RAC Cluster, and Solaris.
- A minimum of 12 years of experience with proven background leading a core technical team in a rapid pace, high availability, high transaction workload environment.
- Deep knowledge of DBMS internals and operations.
- Knowledge of SQL programming, database clustering, client/server architecture, client connectivity products, network basics, database logging and recovery, database objects, database device maintenance, native database backup utilities.
Minimum Education, Certification, Training:
Candidate must have current Oracle certifications with recent technologies.
BS in computer science required. MS in CS a plus .Minimum of 12 yrs in Oracle technologies.
