Job Description: QO Inspectors support the release of incoming Packaging Materials, through the inspection of these items against established acceptance criteria.
The role is critical to the assessment of incoming goods, and has responsibility for a wide variety of items, including primary containers and closures (such as glass and plastic bottles, tubes, caps, and stoppers) and secondary components (such as labels, inserts, cartons, and shippers).
This position requires a high degree of attention to detail, and the ability to correctly apply the standards of various site defect manuals and defect classifications, in order to determine the suitability of goods, relative to their acceptance criteria. The position also requires occasional interaction with Warehouse and Receiving personnel, in order to review shipping conditions, material damage, and receiving documentation, as part of the assessment of material quality.
The role also requires the use of some analytical techniques, such as IR spectroscopy, gravimetric testing, and the use of laboratory ovens.
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED equivalent, or Associates degree preferred with excellent math skills, demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy, and experience with computerized systems, such as LIMS, MAPS, and inspection systems.
Must possess good written and oral communication skills to work with all levels, as both service providers and customers, in circumstances of changing priority.
Must be able to follow written and verbal directions, and properly handling confidential company documents.
Also must be able to work well within a team of peers, in order to meet customer needs through the independent execution of material inspection work.
Must have 20-20 corrected vision and pass color distinction test. Knowledge of GMP requirements, Record Retention process, and Standard Operating Procedures preferred.
Must be self-motivated with limited immediate direction, and willing to learn new and changing responsibilities. Candidate must possess flexibility to respond to changing conditions and priorities.
