Job Description:
Technical Associate/Technical Specialist/Technical Expert (T2/T3/T4) ?

? Development Pilot Plant position is available in the BRD Manufacturing group of Bioprocess R&D.
? The successful applicant will join a larger team of scientists, technicians, and engineers focused on developing and optimizing mammalian cell culture and bacterial/yeast fermentation processes for the efficient production of recombinant proteins and vaccines in clinical portfolio.
? This position will also support research efforts focused on recombinant protein and vaccine recovery and purification. Responsibilities will include scale-up studies from the lab to pilot plant scales.
? This position requires a highly motivated individual with the ability to work closely with other members of the pilot plant and laboratory scientists on experimental studies, pre-clinical manufacturing, and process validation.
? Duties and responsibilities will include setup, cleaning and operation of all types of process and lab-scale equipment, weighing out of raw materials, preparation of solutions and buffers, editing or preparing SOPs and batch records, modifying existing equipment, commissioning activities on new capital equipment, and the interaction with outside suppliers and vendors.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

? HS diploma, Associates Degree, or BS/BA in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry or equivalent.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

? 2+ years experience in laboratory or manufacturing environment (bioprocess industry).
? Applicants should be bright, organized, self-motivated and capable of working independently, and in a collaborative environment.
? The successful candidate will possess excellent oral communication skills.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
? Prior experience in a biologics pilot plant or manufacturing facility.
? Knowledge of drug development processes for progression of a biological candidate.
? Ability to work under minimal supervision.
? Basic knowledge of fermentation and downstream processing techniques.
? Knowledge of cGMP concepts and documentation practices. Operational knowledge of computerized systems.
