Job Description: Description:
As a Compound Safety Prediction (CSP) lab associate scientist/scientist, the candidate will be responsible for supporting laboratory activities such as applying validated biochemical and cell-based screening assays to predict early undesired biological activities to guide early project direction and chemical design.
This position will report to the Lab Head of the In vitro models Laboratory of the CSP group.
Responsibilities:
? Tissue culture techniques of immortalized and primary mammalian cells ? Execute different biochemical and mammalian cell-based assays using luminescence and fluorescence based detection methods ? Experience in running plate based assays in High Throughput mode ? General laboratory maintenance, including compound management ? Strong organizational skills and exceptional computer skills for automated data acquisition and analysis ? Good writing and communication skills
Work experience skills:
Demonstrated scientific technical expertise in cell-based assays in 96- and 384-well format.
Additional experience with liquid handling platforms, FLIPR, High Content Imaging and molecular biology would be of advantage
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a matrix environment with 4-6 lab scientists Demonstration of excellent computer, verbal and written communication skills
Educational Requirements:
BS in biology, pharmacology, toxicology, 0-3 years of laboratory experience.
MOST CRITICAL: Mammalian cell culture experience of immortalized and primary cells, experience with 96-well but preferable 384-well biochemical and cell-based assay formats, experience with luminescence and fluorescence based detection methods. Strong organizational skills and exceptional computer skills for automated data acquisition and analysis.
