Our Global Fortune 500 client is looking for an Accountant for a 1 YEAR positionin Beaverton, OR.
Position Description:
For accounting purposes, our Retail Accounting primary responsibilities include the completeness and accuracy of recording all Retail financial transactions. Significant interaction with the Retail Finance team occurs every day to monitor, record JE?s and analyze financial balances of the Retail business. Interaction with all Retail departments required as well to understand and guide financial decision-making. The Retail Accounting team consists of Controller, Mgr, Supervisor, and 1 Professional Accountant, 3 Sales Audit associates, and 2 Procurement/Fixed Asset associates. Retail environment is very fast paced: day to day changes occur.
Describe what the ETW will be doing in this role:
The ETW will be performing the Accounting Supervisor role while our resource is on maternity leave (Nike band level: high-level L or U). Perform and coordinate month-end accounting close activities. Prepare and review key account reconciliations and financial statements after month-end. Ad-hoc review and consultation with business partners to ensure financial transactions are properly recorded (proactive and reactive). Prepare and respond to management?s ad-hoc requests on financial related matters. Prepare account schedules to support SOX and financial statement audits (internal and external). Prepare quarterly financial reporting requirements (eg lease commitment schedule) for Nike?s Corporate Accounting leadership team. Provide accounting technical expertise and guidance to professional accountants as needed.
Describe the Key Projects/Deliverables associated with this role:
Primary accounting responsibilities:
- Month-end close activities
- Lease accounting
- Accounting for Nike?s digital/online business (example: deferred revenue)
- Accounting for Gift Card business
Skills/Roles Required for this Position:
- Experience: 5 years of accounting experience (ie recording JE?s, reconciling account balances, preparing summary financial statements).
- CPA
- Retail Industry experience
- Outgoing personality to interact with key business partners and management team
- Self-starter and ability to work independently: Proficient information seeking skills
- SAP experience in the FI/CO modules is strongly preferred
Strong data analytics skills (Excel, Access, or other data reporting tools such as Hyperion)
?Big 4? accounting firm experience is a plus
Financial Statement audit experience is preferred
High degree of professionalism
Bachelor degree in accounting is mandatory. CPA.
