Title - Veterinary Technician
Location - Groton, CT
Rate - 25-28/Hr

There are 3 positions with the hiring manager

Possess technical proficiency and/or advanced training with companion animal and/or common laboratory animal species in anesthesia delivery, surgery/surgical nursing, in vivo study techniques, and/or diagnostic imaging.
Pharmaceutical or other industry research experience, and very familiar with IACUC protocol operations.
Excellent organizational skills and have a demonstrated ability to work independently or with minimum supervision on multiple projects across various therapeutic areas.
The ability to work as a team-player yet makes decisions in areas of expertise independently.
Strong working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Outlook and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of working in a regulatory environment (GLPs, SOPs) is preferred.
Associates degree in animal science or other biological science; B.S. and AALAS certification RLAT or RLATG preferred.
Current veterinary technician and/or specialty certification/license, i.e. RVT/LVT/CVT, SRA, SRT. Handling and performing veterinary observations in variety of laboratory animal species from rodent to NHP.
Perform anesthesia, surgery, and peri/postoperative protocols, veterinary care procedures and treatments to research animal models.
Operate, maintain and troubleshoot medical equipment and laboratory procedures.
Provide technical support for animal model development and in vivo study execution in areas of rodent and nonrodent surgery, anesthesia and Bioimaging in vivo support.
Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Ability to maintain a professional attitude while multi-tasking in a high functioning team environment.
