Operations Analyst and Financial Analysts Role Description and Responsibilities 1. Perform resource planning and forecasting in support of Solutions Delivery functions of software development, application engineering, software architecture, information architecture, project management and application service delivery management. 2. Coordinate and prioritize new work requests from clients and partners, assess the scope of work and complexity and advise relevant personnel. 3. Apply management skills and provide insight to the execution of the business processes 4. Conduct preliminary review of project estimates and coordinate mapping projects to available budgets. 5. Perform financial analyst function for Senior Managers and Directors responsible for budgets and financial performance of various information technology functions and information technology projects. 6. Create, review, analyze and distribute weekly financial reports. Provide insight and guidance as to financial conditions or projects, programs and budgets. Resolve accounting charging problems that arise 7. Respond to ad hoc requests for financial information and status. 8. Ensure all financial requests are submitted with appropriate supporting documentation to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures. 9. Manage accruals and invoices as appropriate. 10. Support budget planning and financial planning aspects of the Client's annual budgeting cycle using tools such as Cognos and Business Objects. 11. Provide periodic, selective audits of purchase orders, and invoices, time & material reports. 12. Ensure implementation of and adherence to change control policies and practices for contracts, engagements, and other financial arrangements of project 13. Prepare Senior Management or Executive Summary financial reports for Line Managers, Directors, Program Manager or Portfolio Directors. Provide executive summary analysis. 14. Prepare monthly Sr. Management report and monthly Program Financial Overview (targets, actual expenditures, forecasts, accruals, etc) 15. Provide analysis of actual expenditures, projected spend, and budget; provide guidance to management on the impact of new activity requests as well as changes to program requests. 16. Liaise with Clientr Procurement and vendors to support appropriate contract development and approval. 17. Liaise with Informatics Portfolio Directors to appropriately communicate program activities and provide portfolio and financial oversight of Line and site projects and budgets. 18. Maintain understanding of inter-related projects that are: business funded, restructuring funded, Informatics funded, Corporate funded, and/or integration or restructuring activities funded by other Divisions 19. Act as initial escalation point of contact for all financial issues 20. Inform and advise Portfolio Managers and Project Manager and other key stakeholders of financial issues and matters as appropriate 21. Respond appropriately to input from audit process, Pfizer financial management and other oversight bodies 22. Recommend and implement process improvements and best practices 23. Monitor travel forecasts and spend rates and provide status reports and/or recommend corrective actions as appropriate
Required: ? 10 years experience as a financial coordinator/analyst. ? 3 years experience in an IT environment. ? College degree in finance, accounting, management or engineering, preferred, not required. ? Proficiency in financial administration and reporting software, (Business Objects, Cognos, Ariba) and Microsoft Office desktop software (Excel, Word, MS Project, PowerPoint, etc.) ? Demonstrated command of good accounting principles and practices. ? Must work well as part of a large, fast-paced team, with demonstrated ability to multitask, organize and prioritize consistently and appropriately. ? Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills. ? Must demonstrate ability to exercise discretion on issues of confidentiality.
