The Support Specialist contractor position will be a member of Advanced Deskside Services and will provide system administration and support for selected applications within the Business Technology and Site Services Team. The candidate will work with local and global counterparts across the business units.
The selected candidate will: * Ensure the continuing operation of Informatics systems and services at the Site, with a focus on IT Service Delivery to Worldwide Development and FSL customers both locally and globally. * Through the use of standard procedures, and where necessary contributing to the establishing of new processes, ensure seamless, effective Service Delivery to the customer base from across internal and outsourced service organizations. * Ensure business continuity through an understanding of how IT is integrated with and supports business process. * Interact face to face, over the phone and by e-mail with individual clients at the site and globally on a regular basis. * Maintain expertise in the supported products and assist clients with problem resolution. * Troubleshoot problems and escalate appropriately. * Consult on and implement ways to improve the computing environment. * Write user and training documentation as required and make presentations to both clients and management. * Participate, as needed, in the activities of the project teams and act as a liaison for Informatics. * Dedicated to providing excellent, proactive customer service while keeping informed and trained in specific local and global IT Service Delivery processes and procedures.
Application Support * Provide technical and application level support as specified for both local and global applications after they are transitioned into a support status. Applications supported are those geared towards supporting the business side of the operations.
Implementation * Work with Project Managers and Informatics colleagues in successfully transitioning applications into production support. This includes ensuring that adequate training, documentation and support plans have been provided from the project management team prior to taking over production support responsibilities.
Customer Relationship Management * Offer proactive support to increase customer comfort and expertise in using applications. * Ensure the highest level of customer care professionalism. * Develop and maintain a sound knowledge of the business processes operating in designated customer domains. * Evaluate business needs and recommend solutions.
Experience & Education * Bachelor*s Degree in Business, Computer Science or related field preferred. * 2-5 years working experience supporting technology/applications. * Customer Service experience in IT, Pharma or other industry.
Technical * Experience with supporting web design applications / HTML. Experience with Documentum and/or Livelink technology would be an advantage. * Ability to administer and support Microsoft SharePoint 2003/2007. * Ability to support and administer client based applications operating in a windows environment. * Ability to manage and troubleshoot issues related to Application Servers and Web Servers. * Ability to work within a Call Management system when troubleshooting/solving problems.
