Need Entry Level Candidates with BA/BS Degree in Chemistry OR Related fields with some Lab Experience
Title: Formulation Technician/Scientist
Location: Kalamazoo, MI.
Duration: 12+ Months
Meeting Type: Phone Meeting & In Person Meeting.
Required Travel: No Travel Required.
Anticipated Schedule: Flexible Hours (40/Week)
Responsible for general laboratory and operational support in the preparation, characterization and supply of formulations/drug products.
Essential Duties:
Provide support in the preparation and/or manufacture of common dosage forms such as tablets, capsules, powder blends, semi-solid dosage forms, sterile and non-sterile liquids.
Perform general laboratory unit operations such as weighing, mixing/blending, milling, compressing. Dissolution testing etc.
Run simple analytical tools such as pH measurement, osmolarity, moisture content determination, viscosity, syringibility, turbidity and/or opalescence, particle size determination etc.
Perform set up and analyzing stability samples of development and clinical supplies.
Take care of general housekeeping activities such as cleaning bench spaces, processing equipment and rinsing glassware
Order, maintain and stock lab supplies such as common excipients, primary packaging materials, gloves, cleaning agents, safety glasses etc.
Requirements:
Bachelor degree in laboratory sciences, chemistry or related discipline preferably with prior industrial/laboratory experience
Good oral and written communication skills
Computer skills required: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
Ability to develop and maintain effective, trusting work and customer relationships
Self-starter, able to prioritize work and work efficiently with minimal supervision.
