Job Description:
Great opportunity to to work as Linuguist in the US. NO TRAVEL! We are now hiring Arabic translators with Top Secret SCI and Lifestyle Polygraphs to work in FT Meade MD for Par- Time. Must hold ACTIVE Top Secret SCI Clearance with Lifestyle Polygrpah and speak Arabic and English. Must have Voice translation expeirence. Must live in the immediate DC, MD, or VA area. This challenge requires superb professionals that are willing to assist and support the U.S.Agency in translation and documentation. Linguists will interpret during interviews, meetings, and conferences. They will also translate and review written documents and analyze spoken communications.
NSA - Transcription and Annotation Position
TRANSCRIPTION TASKS :
LANGUAGES: Arabic;
POSITION: Work is part-time. Linguists must work at least 10 hours per week. Work hours are flexible. Linguists must live in the Northern Virginia, DC, Maryland area.
DESCRIPTION:
These tasks require verbatim transcription of operational voice communications. In addition, linguists must annotate transcription in accordance with guidelines furnished by the customer. These guidelines include instructions for formatting transcripts and for tagging abbreviations, acronyms and non-speech/non-verbal noise and utterances. Because the results of the work will be used for scientific research, accuracy and precision are paramount. Thus, we need linguists who operate at very high levels of language proficiency. And by the same token, the linguists have to be very familiar with the skills and disciplines of transcription. Allowable error rates depend on the nature of the task and generally range from 5% to 15%. Linguists must also perform at productivity rates established by the customer. These are usually expressed in terms of "times real-time." Thus a transcription rate of 10 to 1 or 10x means that it takes a transcriber 10 minutes to transcribe/annotate 1 minute of speech. The customer's requirement for production generally ranges from 20x to 30x. This task DOES NOT involve any analysis or reportingthe task is 100% transcription/annotation.
ANNOTATOR QUALIFICATIONS:
1. TSC/SCI with full-scope polygraph if a civilian or CI polygraph if active duty military.
2. Level 4 language proficiency
3. At least 5 years of operational transcription experience. Please note this does not mean 5 years total work in the language, but rather 5 years of TRANSCRIPTION work.
4. Voice Operations Experience is required. Meaning a person must have experience listening to audio and then typing exactly what is said.
