Fortune 1000 Company positioned to become one of the nation's distributors of natural gas, providing service through six utilities, two gas storage facilities and an asset management company. The company is a Fortune 1000 company that ranks in the first 50 in the gas and utilities sector. This position warrants expertise in Natural gas Commercial & Industrial Sales, which sells behind pipelines and utilities. Location: 1 Candidate for Western Ohio and 1 Candidate for Western Pennsylvania Basic Function: This position is accountable for executing strategies and commitments for the assigned region. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Ensures all permits/filings/etc are obtained to enter target Commercial and Industial markets. - Expert in city gate requirements to serve and balance customers in target sales area; - Develops and maintains relationships with customers, competitors, utility, and other relevant market players. - Implements and monitors strategies for optimizing income opportunities. - Understands financial hedge strategies to include futures, options, and derivative products in price/product offerings - Structures and negotiates Commercial &Industial gas transactions; - Assures that contracts are executed in a timely manner, and appropriate accounting procedures are developed and implemented as necessary; - Understands and communicates pricing fundamentals and dynamics for assigned regions; - Coordinates with other departments to ensure customer is served properly - Recognize embedded options being offered in proposals; - Realize the expected value of each deal that is implemented.
Skills: - Strong Communication and interpersonal relationship skills. - Strong Analytical and problem solving ability. - Works effectively in a high pressure environment.
Education and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, marketing, engineering or equivalent business/industry related experience. Seven or more years in gas industry. - Understanding of forward pricing and basic risk management tools. - Maintains working knowledge of NYMEX natural gas futures contracts and related risk management tools including natural gas options and basis swaps. - Understands the competitive elements and market dynamics in the natural gas industry. - Detailed knowledge of the logistics of the gas market operations in order to maximize opportunities, including information on pipelines & utility tariffs and discounts, transportation grid, alternate fuels, storage, seasonal and regional demand/supply pattern, customer preferences, competitor activity, and federal and state regulations.
