Description
Provides assistant designs, develops, engineers and implements
solutions to security requirements. Performs a risk analysis that
also includes risk assessment. Supports, assists with coordination,
and implementation the organization?s information security. A
working knowledge of several of the following areas is required:
understanding of business security practices and procedures;
knowledge of current security tools available; hardware/software
security implementation; different communication protocols;
encryption techniques/tools; familiarity with commercial products,
and current Internet/EC technology.

Seeking an Junior IT Security Specialist. Ideal candidate should be able to manage following responsibilities:
- Assist designing, developing, engineering and implementing solutions to security requirements
- Perform Risk analysis including risk assessments
- Support, assist with coordination and implementation of information security
- Possess working knowledge of several of following areas:
- Understanding business security practices and procedures
- Knowledge of current security tools available
- Hardware/Software security implementation
- Different communication protocols
- Encryption techniques/tools
- Familiarity with commercial products and current Internet/EC technology
Active TS/SCI with Fullscope Polygraph Security Clearance.
Essential Job Functions
- Audits computer systems to ensure that they are operating securely and that data is protected from both internal and external attack.
- Conducts security assessments to ensure adherence to customer specific security policy, procedures and industry standards.
- Monitors, evaluates, and maintains security systems according to industry best practices to safeguard internal information systems and databases.
- Assists with the review and definition of security requirements and reviews systems to determine if they are designed to comply with established standards.
- Investigates security violations and breaches; Prepares reports on intrusions as necessary.
- Reviews firewalls logs across the assigned area. Configures firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other network security devices across assigned area.
