Job Description:
DB2 DBA- Mainframe
Performs DB2 physical application database support including backup, recovery, reorgs, implementations, monitoring, Object changes and batch schedules. Can gather database physical requirements and design physical database objects. Can tune table accesses and review SQL calls for performance.
Takes ownership of problems and provides resolution as appropriate, involves peers and SMEs as necessary to resolve problems. Plans and implements disaster recovery and standard recovery testing using established documentation. Adheres to security, audit and standards policies and procedures. Participate in Oncall rotation and available for non-standard hour support. Review, Test and implement change request associated with database objects.
SKILLS
Mainframe DB2 Database Administrator
DB2 database 5 - 10 years
z/OS mainframe experience 5 - 10 years.
JCL 5 - 10 years, job scheduling, system monitoring.
Knowledge of TSO, ENDEVOR, CA products, Monitoring tools, DB2 utilities.
SQL programming a plus.
Other DBMS DATACOM/DB a plus.
