A Raleigh, NC start up developing a new total solution in the green energy market has a requirement for a Senior Software Engineer. The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for initial design and development of new software or extensive software revisions of major components within a complete end to end solution including operations center and custom clients.
The design includes standard products for transaction processing, messaging, database, and systems and network management. The system is used in a Software As A Service environment. The Senior Software Engineer helps to define product requirements and creates high-level design specifications, ensuring feasibility, functionality, and integration with new or existing systems/platforms in a mission critical real-time environment.
Strong hands-on background in Linux, enterprise JAVA, and IBM software component (Websphere, DB2, Tivoli) design skills in a client/server environment is required. A clear understanding of real-time distributed transactions, wireless communications, and database technology is necessary. The successful candidate will have proven leadership capabilities, strong organizational and time management skills, and will rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
This is a ?hands on? position where the candidate will be required to code and support major system components. The candidate will be required to perform a variety of complicated tasks, provide consultation on complex projects, and is expected to be the top level contributor/specialist with excellent written and verbal communications skills.
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and at least 8 years of experience in designing and developing complex components designs is required.
