Mining Superintendent for London ON
The qualified candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, either Mining or Mechanical, 10 years of mining experience and 3 to 5 years senior supervisory experience. You must be a highly motivated, energetic team player who enjoys a fast-paced work environment and be proficient in Microsoft applications, knowledgeable in the use of CMMS systems and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
This position reports to the Mine Manager/Operation Manager and is responsible for managing and budgeting for the mining operations, providing leadership for the mining department, promoting safety and productivity, short and long term planning of underground mining with respect to production demand, ground control, underground ventilation, crusher and conveyor belt placement, mining equipment need and general mine lay-out as well as planning for mining labour requirements. The position also requires the incumbent to coordinate production needs and planned maintenance activities with the maintenance department, develop specifications for new mining equipment and assist in the sourcing and purchase of it. The incumbent directly supervises 3 General Foremen, 16 Production Supervisors and up to 250 hourly employees indirectly.
