Job Description: A Downtown Company is in need of an Experienced Tax Manager.
The Tax Manager is responsible for the delivery of a full range of tax services for multiple clients in varied industries.
The Main responsibilities would include: * Interacting closely w/ clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients and manage to budget. * Providing primary and secondary review of complex tax returns including Corporate, S-Corp., partnership, and individual clients. * Developing and managing staff, and working closely w/ partners and staff on client management, practice development, and business development activities.
Essential duties would include: * Manage, direct, and monitor multiple client services and teams on client engagements. * Plan, execute, direct, and complete tax projects in varied industries. * Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff on tax projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews. * Research and consult on various tax matters. * Recruit and retrain Senior Associates and Associates. * Attend professional development & training sessions on a regular basis.
Qualifications/Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. CPA, Masters in Taxation, LLM in Taxation, or JD. * 5-7 years of progressive federal tax consulting and/or compliance experience in public accounting or a combination of corp. & public accounting experience. * Experience in Corp., S-Corp. and/or Partnership returns. * Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills with proficiency in US GAAP, tax compliance, corp. consolidated returns, consolidated federal tax returns, partnership returns, and combined state tax returns. * Strong experience in staff & tax management in an integrated client service team. * Practice development experience is preferred. Computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology. * Ability to work additional hours as needed and travel to various client sites.
