Reference Number: IK Job Description: Brooklyn Medical Center seeks experienced medical transcriptionist. Duties include: take patient calls for prescriptions and pre-certs; make patient appointments with outside providers; scan and document patient charts and lab tests; and transcribe from tapes. Candidates should be familiar with medical terminology and databases. Candidates should also be familiar with CPT/ICD-9 coding. Strong organizational, written, oral and interpersonal communications skills required. Exceptional multi-tasking and time management abilities for this fast-paced environment also required. Experience working in cardiology department a huge plus! MUST HAVE PREVIOUS PHYSICIAN OFFICE EXPERIENCE.
