Job Description: JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for evaluating, planning, designing, implementing and overseeing all aspects of large Engineering projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Utilization Lean Manufacturing principles.
2. Create and maintain drawings and engineering documentation for the production floor to produce
products and to enable projects to be completed on time, on budget and to customer and
company?s expectations.
3. Do comprehensive planning of assigned projects to ensure efficient production and/or completion
on time and within budget.
4. Ensure comprehensive communication and coordination with customers and all departmentals personal regarding, products, production and projects.
5. Provide technical advice in regards to construction, production and equipment repair, design and modifications to anyone requesting this help.
6. Deal with customer problems/requests as directed by supervisor.
7. Participation in company Continuous Improvement programs.
8. Attend site meetings and serve as company representative as needed.
9. Provide project leadership and regular reports of project status to Managers and product line
management.
10. Assist in estimating quantities and cost of materials, equipment and labor to determine project
feasibility.
11. Identify, evaluate, develop and coordinate resolutions for Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality,
Safety, Environmental and Administration.
12. Work with, Maintenance, Accounting, Purchasing, Quality, I.S., Production and Risk management
departments along with outside resources for continuous improvement, new construction, general maintenance projects, equipment evaluations, purchases and repairs.
12. Incorporate environmental, social and economic impacts into decisions.
13. Work with Engineering Personnel on controlling all department costs and developing metrics to
track these costs to contain and improve.
14. Basic knowledge of production, manufacturing and assembly operations.
15. Manage all aspects of engineering projects as related to a manufacturing operation.
16. Create and maintain drawings and engineering documentation for the design, development, and
analysis of product or project requirement's in order to meet customer expectations.
17. Apply mathematical and scientific principles to the design, development and operational
evaluation of physical systems used in manufacturing and end-product systems used for specific
uses.
18. Prepare, document and track work using diagrams, charts, tables and reports to reflect findings.
19. Provide upon request project information regarding, history, research, specifications, cost justification, budgets and construction or installation plans.
20. Excellent knowledge of production, manufacturing and assembly operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelors Degree in appropriate field.
Experience: 5-10 years in Engineering in a manufacturing environment.
Skills &
Knowledge: This position requires above average verbal and written communication skills.
Should have a strong production and mechanical background, be goal oriented with
ability to understand, create and implement lean manufacturing principles and
performance metrics for quality, cost and delivery. Must be able to direct people
who do not report to you and have above average drafting and design skills.
TYPICAL WORKING ENVIRONMENT: This position works approximately 60% of the time in the production environment and 40% in an office environment. Must also be able to travel as needed to other company locations
