Roles & Responsibilities: The role of a Developer within the Back Office Development Team will be to work on a team that is designing, developing and taking ownership of a strategic platform for the delivery of applications and reports for portfolio management, End of Day P&L calculations, prime broker data interfaces, prime broker position reconciliation, and trade/position imports and exports. As a member of the team, the developer will contribute concepts, ideas and participate in strategic planning sessions to improve the company?s service oriented architecture, responsiveness to business requests and end user empowerment for making data and process changes. - Gather business requirements from end users/project leads/managers. - Produce high level and detailed technical architectures. - Develop proof of concept models to support design efforts. - Develop reliable/reusable/scalable/service-oriented software/solutions and documentation according to our existing software design practices. - Assess and recommend changes in other architectural designs. - Evaluate and recommend the use of vendor solutions and tools. - Assist in the development of project plans. - Mentor staff in the use of products, design and programming techniques and participate in code reviews.
Experience Level: 4 Years
Requirements: - A development background in building applications using Microsoft Technologies for trading and portfolio management systems preferably in a hedge fund or prime broker environment. - Working knowledge of the .NET platform including windows forms or ASP.NET Development is required. - Significant experience working with data modeling, including relational design and data abstraction. - Extensive experience working with database centric data driven environments using SQL. - Object programming experience, working with C#.NET or Java. Experience with ASP/ASP.NET, VB/VB Script/VBA for Excel, Java/JSP is a plus. - Knowledge of a variety of financial instruments, products and services is a big plus. - Strong communication and presentation skills. - Good analytical skills and design skills. - Dedicated and conscientious - Education: B.S. degree required.
