Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible and accountable for the management and maintenance of core databases and domains for the medical center's information systems.
Monitors system databases, troubleshoots problems and ensures that the databases and systems operate smoothly and effectively.
Serves as system manager for selected core systems.
Development of domains to support installation upgrade and ongoing support including backup, recovery and performance tuning of selected systems.
Involved in disaster recovery planning for the core databases and domains, including insuring that historical data residing in the core databases and domains is well protected by sound backup strategies and practices.
Participates in the development and management of facility interfaces.
Interacts effectively with management, computer users, technical staff and other customers while maintaining a high standard of professionalism.
On call rotation availability and ability to periodically work additional hours as necessary.

Requirements:
Tools/Technologies/Experience/Skills:
2 + years of experience in database administration or system management: (Required).
Experience with MS-SQL Server: (Required).
Experience with VMS operating system: (Required).
Experience with Oracle DBA: (Required).
Experience with Health care industry: (Desirable).
Experience with Lawson Financial systems: (Desirable).
Experience with HL7 and X12 interfaces: (Desirable).
Education:
Bachelor of Science in computer science or a related field.
