Job Description:
Our client is an energy based company, produces and sells electricity in the United States.
Project Description:
The candidate will support the Trading and Risk application (Endur).
The candidate will be responsible for:
- analyzing the business needs for internal customers and devising solutions
- developing/unit testing in AVS language (proprietary C like language) from documented business requirements. There is a goal to move to JAVA language.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Gain knowledge in specific areas of the Endur application and client's Business.
Participate in requirements gathering session with users.
Software development skills, with a focus on supporting the Endur application and custom code including C/C++, PL/SQL, SQL and Crystal Reports.
Participate in new projects related to Endur with a focus on requirements gathering and new development.
Administer technical production and test environment including UNIX application servers.
Liason with other IT groups.

Requirements:
Tools/Technologies/Experience/Skills:
Experience with a Software Life Cycle Process: (Required).
Minimum of 5 years of technical experience preferably with C, PL/SQL, SQL, JAVA and Crystal Reporting: (Required).
Experience with the Energy Trading business and the Endur application: (Required).
Good written and verbal communication skills: (Required).
System Life Cycle Methodology including analysis, requirements definition, business process definition, and testing: (Required).
Education:
Undergraduate college degree, or equivalent experience.
B.S., Computer Science or other equivalent degree.
