Job Description: Position Overview
To perform specialized professional accounting/financial assignments in the areas of cost accounting, general accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. Primary Job Duties
* Responsible for month-end close including maintaining general ledger, account reconciliations & analysis, preparation of journal entries, and timeliness of the close. * Prepare month-end financial statements and explain variances to forecast. * Prepares annual profit plan and quarterly forecasts. * Prepares and issues various performance reports and KPIs each week to management. * Ensure proper accounting of costs including reviews of invoices, purchase requisitions, labor charges, and inventory transactions. * Analyze inventory for excess and obsolete costs. * Maintain accuracy of job costs. Enter adjustments, post job completions and variances at month-end. * Responsible for tracking product line costs, determine margins and establish cost standards. * Responsible for proper accounting of contract costs and recognition of revenue. Ensure proper billing of costs on US Government contracts. * Prepare indirect rate packages and cost proposals. Respond to requests by the DCAA and other government contract auditors. * Participates in quarterly, interim and year-end audits - providing data and schedules to support auditor requests. * Provide financial support to business unit's management team as requested. * Provide support to the Imaging Controller in a variety of jobs including but not limited to the above duties.
Develops and maintains good working relationships with marketing, sales, operations, information systems and accounting.
Communicate with all functions/levels of the organization. Minimum Requirements
* Five to seven years of relevant experience in finance/accounting preferably in a manufacturing environment. * Knowledge of financial and accounting concepts and principles required. * Must have intermediate to advanced skill with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point. * Should have prior cost accounting experience with ERP systems in job costing and production product costing environments. * Prior experience with government contracts including a working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations regarding direct vs. indirect costs, allowable vs. unallowable costs, indirect rates, and contract billings a plus.
