This position plays a critical role in the management of distressed multifamily loans. The primary role of the loss mitigation asset manager is to work with DUS lenders in a ?dual track? process to manage non-performing loans in accordance with current policies and procedures.
Job Functions: Duties include: meeting with borrowers and DUS lenders, negotiation of large complex commercial credits, site inspections of properties, managing legal services, ordering physical needs assessments, valuations, appraisals and environmental reports, preparing management reports and forecasting losses.
Qualifications: Bachelor?s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate or related business field preferred, or equivalent work experience
A minimum of 5 years experience in real estate asset management, credit, or default resolution is preferred
Mortgage industry experience, particularly in the multifamily sector
Proven financial, credit and analytical skills are required
Demonstrated organizational, research skills, as well as the ability to conceptualize issues and develop complex processes, procedures or solutions
Background in accounting, audit, compliance, asset management or underwriting preferred
Effective communication (written/verbal), interpersonal and presentation skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment is key
Extensive Microsoft Office (or comparable) software
Demonstrated judgment and ability to balance precision with practicality
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Experience Level: 5+ Years
