Job Description:
Qualitek Services has an immediate 6 months + contract opening for a Scientist (4201-1635) in Dulles, VA.

REQUIRED SKILLS

****Must be a US Citizen with Top Secret Clearance ****

Candidate must have a Bachelor?s Degree) with at least 12 years of previous work experience.

Extensive technical experience in systems engineering and integration of space systems. Minimum 12 years experience in aerospace systems design, development, manufacture, test or operations, including 2 years of technical or project leadership positions. BS or higher degree in aerospace engineering or related discipline.

Candidate Must Possess the Following Skills:
- TS/SSBI Clearance
- Ability to lead a system engineering team to develop system requirements
- Ability to evaluate and adjust system requirements in order to best meet program objectives
- Ability to develop and manage system interfaces to integrate multi-element systems
- Ability to translate program objectives and customer requirements into system requirements
- Ability to allocate requirements among multiple elements of an integrated space system

Beneficial additional experience (but not required)
- Experience with system engineering requirement tools (Cradle, CORE or DOORS) and processes
- Experience in requirements development and management processes
- Experience in development and maintenance of interface control documents and related processes
- Experience in space system testing and evaluation (flight and ground testing)
- Experience with various technical analysis tools such as MATLAB and STK
- Experience in any of the following areas is also desired: orbital mechanics, spacecraft attitude control, power systems and modeling, avionics or digital electronics design, risk analysis, optics, communications, rocket propulsion, thermal engineering, or spacecraft integration and testing
- Experience and/or training in Earned Value Management Systems

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform preliminary/original design and analysis 25%
2. Strategic planning within organization or project. 15%
3. Documentation and presentation of analysis, test and design 10%
4. Interact with external contacts 10%
5. Support new business / prepare proposal material 10%
6. May supervise staff. 15%
7. Anomaly resolution / special studies 15%

Serve as a professional authority in one engineering discipline or specialty area. Conduct preliminary and advanced design studies and prepare and present major portions of engineering proposals.
Conceive and develop solutions to complex analytical, design, and test problems that program(s) experience. Contribute to systems philosophy and design objectives. Analyze and resolve important failures in test and service, often without recourse to intense theoretical studies and test programs.
Assure continuity of design features from advanced design through contract completion. Write complex specifications and engineering reports as a result of advance studies, special engineering
investigations, and similar activities. Develop aspects of new theory and design criteria for general application.

- Lead and critique spacecraft design and analysis efforts in general
- Conceive and develop solutions to complex analytical, design, and test problems that the program may experience
- Develop and provide input to the Program Systems Engineering Management Plan
- Space segment chief technical interface at all scheduled program meetings and reviews
- Technical management of the payload, and major bus subcontracted program elements
- Planning and conduct of all contractual space segment technical reviews
- Responsible for consistency of the reliability and safety contamination and other product assurance plans with objectives
- Responsible to write monthly status and technical performance reviews and reports
- Earned Value Management System baseline generation, tracking/maintenance and variance analysis
- Mentor, guide, and advise junior staff
- Other duties as assigned

Pay Rate: $65.00/hr MAX DOE
