Job Description:
Qualitek Services has an immediate 5 months + contract opening for a Senior Engineer (4213-1672) in Dulles-VA.
REQUIRED SKILLS
All candidates MUST HAVE: TS/SSBI SCI--Top Secret security clearance with a valid SSBI investigation

Candidate must have a Bachelor?s Degree with at least 4 years of previous work experience.
Summary:
Based on specific stated objectives perform analysis, design, or test of one or more complex materials, structural components or functional systems of company products. Without detailed direction, study
basic design concepts and criteria for assigned complex materials, components, or functional systems to ascertain the engineering principles involved and to adopt features from previously successful
designs of a similar nature. With general direction, plan, prepare, and complete the design of assigned complex components and functional systems. Study the operation of systems, select major components to meet functional and operational requirements, and determine the optimum location and
arrangement from an engineering, manufacturing, and service standpoint. Direct the more detailed analysis and design and follow up to assure compliance with original philosophy and good engineering execution.

COMPUTER EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of Windows is required.

Experience with software tools commonly used in the particular field of engineering.

RESPONSIBILITIES % of Time
1. Perform complex engineering analysis, test, design and/or development. Design and development components, software and/or hardware. Perform preliminary/original design and analysis. 50%
2. Develop test programs to evaluate new materials or the assign portion of the project/program. Establish the type and extent of operating conditions to be simulated and devise major equipment, instrumentation and original simulation methods. Take complete charge of the testing phase. 15%
3. Plan strategies for engineering analysis, test and design used for task planning 10%
4. Document results of analysis, test and design. Generate documentation for article being 10%
engineered. Prepare presentation and present results verbally.
5. Interact with senior customer personnel on significant technical matters, often requiring 10%
coordinated activity across organizational lines. Represent the organization as a contact
on projects or contracts.
6. Perform research for related engineering projects. 5%
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
-Technical knowledge and/or hands-on experience in systems engineering and integration of space systems.
-Minimum 4 years experience in aerospace systems design, development, manufacture, test or operations.
-Top Secret SSBI/SCI
BENEFICIAL EXPERIENCE (but not required):
- Experience with system engineering requirement tools (Cradle, CORE or DOORS) and processes
- Experience in requirements development and management processes
- Experience in development and maintenance of interface control documents and related processes
- Experience in space system testing and evaluation (flight and ground testing)
- Experience with various technical analysis tools such as MATLAB and STK
- Experience in any of the following areas is also desired: orbital mechanics, spacecraft attitude control, power systems and modeling, avionics or digital electronics design, risk analysis, optics, communications, rocket propulsion, thermal engineering, or spacecraft integration and testing
- Experience and/or training in Earned Value Management Systems
Pay Rate: $45.80/hr MAX DOE
