Job Description: Qualitek Services has an immediate 6 months+ contract opening for a Space Systems Integration Engineer (4228) in Dulles, VA.
REQUIRED SKILLS

Candidate must have a Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) in Aerospace, Chemistry, Engineering, Math, Physics with at least 7 (Seven) years of related experience is required.
Technical knowledge and/or hands-on experience in systems engineering and integration of space systems.
Minimum 7 years experience in aerospace systems design, development, manufacture, test or operations.
Knowledge of Word, Excel, Windows and CAD required.
Beneficial Experience (but not required):
Experience with system engineering requirement tools (Cradle, CORE or DOORS) and processes. Experience in requirements development and management processes. Experience in development and maintenance of interface control documents and related processes. Experience in space system testing and evaluation (flight and ground testing). Experience with various technical analysis tools such as MATLAB and STK. Experience in any of the following areas is also desired: orbital mechanics, spacecraft altitude control, power systems and modeling, avionics or digital electronics design, risk analysis, optics, communications, rocket propulsion, thermal engineering, or spacecraft integration and testing. Experience and/or training in Earned Value Management Systems
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Perform highly complex analysis, test, design and/or development. Perform preliminary/original design and analysis 30%
2. Plan strategies for analysis, test and design used for task planning and execution. Analyze project requirements and develop detailed objectives and detailed planning, conceptual designs and risk analysis. 20%
3. Develop and oversee test programs to evaluate new materials or the assign portion of the project/program. Analyze and review test data. 15%
4. Lead in the development of reports and design notes. Document and present results of analysis, test and design. 10%
5. Interact with internal and external customers. Assist the customer in defining system requirements and in the generation of specifications for products or sub systems. Support new business and prepare proposal material. 10%
6. Provide technical guidance and direction to engineering team in the design, test, production and maintenance phases of a project. 10%
7. Develop and present materials for project related briefings including design reviews to be given to internal and external customers. 5%
Perform analysis, design, or test of one or more complex materials, structural components or functional systems of company products which require use of ingenuity and creativity. Based on broadly defined problems study basic design concepts and criteria for assigned highly complex materials, components, or functional systems to ascertain the engineering principles involved and to adopt features from previously successful designs of a similar nature. Without detailed direction, plan, prepare, and complete the design of assigned complex components and functional systems. Study the operation of systems, select major components to meet functional and operational requirements, and determine the optimum location and arrangement from an engineering, manufacturing, and service standpoint.

Successful candidates for this position will work in a technical role for the National Security Systems (NSS) group. This position offers the opportunities to work on exciting cutting-edge research-and-development projects and/or flight program production program in support of various NSS business focus areas and mission objectives.
Duties include contributing to the general systems engineering activities. This may include requirements flowdown, tracking, verification, and the writing complex specifications, interface control documents, and engineering reports from advanced studies, special engineering investigations, and similar activities. The candidate must be knowledgeable in aerospace systems and spacecraft subsystems design and operations.. Advanced analyses relating to mission and technical problems may be required. Position may also include responsibilities relating to integration, testing, and operational readiness of payloads and flight systems. The role will include interfacing with external customer technical representatives as well as internal engineering associates and program management. Candidate may be called on to assist in new business activities such as conceptual design and analysis for proposals and funded studies and may include authoring sections for both.
Pay Rate: $ 71.50/hr MAX DOE
