Job Description:
Qualitek Services has an immediate 5 months + contract opening for a FPGA Lead Senior Principal Engineer (4230-1704) in Dulles-VA.

REQUIRED SKILLS

****Must be a US Citizen With Top Secret Clearance****

Candidate must have a Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) in Chemistry, Engineering, Math, Physics or equivalent experience 12 years of related work experience is required Master's preferred .

Must have a solid understanding of electronics development.

Excellent technical, interpersonal and verbal presentation skills.

Domain knowledge of computer systems, serial interfaces (1553, 1394, RS-422, space wire) and development of space qualified avionics architectures is considered a plus.

Knowledge of Word, Excel, Windows and CAD required

The successful candidate will be able to perform the following:

Assist the Command and Data Handling (C&DH) Lead in the management of a subsystem including: electronic component delivery, scope definition, cost, and schedule.

Collaborate with others on: the generation of electrical system specifications, execution of architecture trade studies, HW/SW partitioning, and development of electronic component and circuit card assemblies.

Applicant shall have prior experience as a digital H/W board designer with strong FPGA (or ASIC) design skills. Possess prior design experience utilizing VHDL and/or Verilog languages.

Applicant shall be highly skilled in the use of FPGA CAD development tools including design entry, simulation/verification, synthesis, and place-and-route.

Maintain requirements analysis and verification of the product through simulation, analysis, test, and inspection.

Generate engineering documentation required to illustrate design closure. such as the generation of specifications, test plans and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as a professional authority in one engineering discipline or specialty area. Collaborate in preliminary and advanced design studies and prepare portions of engineering proposals.

Conceive and develop solutions to analytical, design, and test problems that program(s) experience. Aid in establishing systems philosophy and design objectives.

Analyze and resolve failures in test and service, sometimes without recourse to intense theoretical studies and test programs. Assure continuity of design features from advanced design through contract completion. Write major portions of complex specifications and engineering reports as a result of advance studies, special engineering investigations, and similar activities.

Develop aspects of new theory and design criteria for general application.

May lead subsystem design team within project to include technical, cost and responsibility for assigned subsystem.

Perform highly complex analysis, test, design and/or development. Perform preliminary/original design and analysis. Perform anomaly resolution and conduct special schedule studies. 25%

Develop strategies for analysis, test and design. Analyze project requirements and develop detailed objectives and detailed planning, conceptual designs and risk analysis.

Develop and oversee test programs to evaluate new materials or the assign portion of the project/program. Review test data.

Lead in the development of reports and design notes. Review and approve analysis of team members.

Interact with internal and external customers. Assist the customer in defining system requirements and in the generation of specifications for products or sub systems.

Provide technical guidance and direction to engineering team in the design, test, production and maintenance phases of a project.

Develop and present materials for project related briefings including design reviews to be given to internal and external customers.

Support new business and prepare proposal material. Generate engineering schedules and cost estimates for proposal and projects. May track the progress of tasks within the project.

Pay Rate: $70/hr MAX DOE
