Job Description: Qualitek Services has an immediate 3 months+ contract opening for an Spacecraft Senior Electrical Engineer in Dulles, VA.

1. Abilty to work with/support the Electrical Power Subsystem (EPS) Lead to formulate and define key solar array (S/A), solar array drive assembly (SADA) and solar array drive electronics (SADE) performance characteristics to meet customer requirements 2. Experience with development of space-qualified S/A and/or SADA and/or SADE components 3. Must possess strong technical performance specification, interface control documentation and subcontractor statement of work writing skills. 4. Experience in scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor management and mechanical manufacturing interface support a plus. 5. Must have experience in the integration & test of S/A, SADA and SADE to the spacecraft 6. Must possess strong oral presentation skills and be comfortable with customer interaction and ability to work in fast-paced team environment. 7. Must be able to produce proposal sections and costs for power subsystems in the area of S/A, SADA and SADE. 8. A proven budget and schedule management skills, as well as variance analysis skills a strong pIus. Duties Specific to the Position: 1. Abilty to oversee the complete development and space-qualification of the S/A, SADA and SADE from performance definition to final spacecraft-level test. 2. Subcontractor management (some travel required) and mechanical manufacturing interface definition including performance specification, lCD, and SOW generation, as well as continuous technical support throughout the procurement life cycle 3. Spacecraft integration and test support for the S/A, SADA and SADE including unit-level functional and environmental testing and in-orbit checkout
COMPUTER EXPERIENCE Knowledge of Windows is required. ADDITIONAL SKILLS Experience with software tools commonly used in the particular field of engineering. practices. Develop general test program to evaluate new materials of products.
Candidate must have a Bachelor?s Degree with at least 5 years of previous work experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
RESPONSIBILITIES % of Time 1. Perform complex engineering analysis, test, design and/or development. Design and development components, software and/or hardware. Perform preliminary/original design and analysis. 50%
2. Develop test programs to evaluate new materials or the assign portion of the project/program. Establish the type and extent of operating conditions to be simulated and devise major equipment, instrumentation and original simulation methods. Take complete charge of the testing phase. 15% 3. Plan strategies for engineering analysis, test and design used for task planning 10% 4. Document results of analysis, test and design. Generate documentation for article being 10% engineered. Prepare presentation and present results verbally. 5. Interact with senior customer personnel on significant technical matters, often requiring 10% coordinated activity across organizational lines. Represent the organization as a contact on projects or contracts. 6. Perform research for related engineering projects. 5%
Pay Rate: $53.60/hr MAX DOE
