Qualitek Services has an immediate 2 months+ contract opening for an Wiring Harness Design Engineer with RSD 9.0 Experience in Dulles, VA.

Candidate must have a Bachelor?s Degree in Engineering, Math, or Physics or equivalent work experience with at least 7 years of previous work experience.
COMPUTER EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of Word, Excel, Windows and CAD required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Principal Harness Schematic Engineer: (RSD 9.0 experience required)
Perform analysis, design, or test of one or more complex materials,
Structural components or functional systems of company products which
require use of ingenuity and creativity. Based on broadly defined problems
study basic design concepts and criteria for assigned highly complex
materials, components, or functional systems to ascertain the engineering
principles involved and to adopt features from previously successful
designs of a similar nature. Without detailed direction, plan, prepare,
and complete the design of assigned complex components and functional
systems. Study the operation of systems, select major components to meet
functional and operational requirements, and determine the optimum location
and arrangement from an engineering, manufacturing, and service standpoint.
Job Description :
Lead engineer, define and capture electrical connectivity across spacecraft.
Generate systems schematics|
Perform trade studies in regards to electrical impedance, EMI and mass characteristics in order to optimize spacecraft harness design.
Liaison with Manufacturing and Integration and Test during harness manufacture and installation.
RESPONSIBILITIES % of Time
1. Perform highly complex analysis, test, design and/or development. Perform preliminary/original design and analysis 30%
2. Plan strategies for analysis, test and design used for task planning and execution. Analyze project requirements and develop detailed objectives and detailed planning, conceptual designs and risk analysis. 20%
3. Develop and oversee test programs to evaluate new materials or the assign portion of the project/program. Analyze and review test data. 15%
4. Lead in the development of reports and design notes. Document and present results of analysis, test and design. 10%
5. Interact with internal and external customers. Assist the customer in defining system requirements and in the generation of specifications for products or sub systems. Support new business and prepare proposal material. 10%
6. Provide technical guidance and direction to engineering team in the design, test, production and maintenance phases of a project. 10%
7. Develop and present materials for project related briefings including design reviews to be given to internal and external customers. 5%
Pay Rate: $ 65 /hr MAX DOE
