Job Description:
OASIS Corporation is a staffing company located in Greensboro North Carolina. We currently have an opening with one of our customers in Greensboro. The need is for a contract to permanent Telecommunications Analyst. The permanent salary range for the position is $50,000-$60,000/year.
The position will be responsible for:
- Overall telecommunications systems for the company telecom equipment and services.
- Providing technical expertise to assist in efficient and effective network and mobile telecommunications.
- Managing the company Nortel phone system, wiring and communications.
The job duties will include:
- Perform analysis, planning and implementation of overall telecommunications requirements for the company voice network and mobile services.
- Available 7 X 24 to handle and resolve all systems problems affecting production, emergencies, and equipment specific maintenance that involves off-hours downtime.
- Develop, manage, and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers that perform maintenance and emergency services of telecommunications equipment and services.
- Act as liaison between the provider companies and the vendor companies in matters dealing with the company telecommunications needs.
- Recommend improvements to enhance technical capabilities of the voice and mobile systems and reduce operating costs.
- Manage repair services and perform customer level programming of Nortel systems; provide move, add and change services.
- Review for accuracy and recommend payment of invoices submitted by the provider\vendor companies for services rendered.
- Manage and coordinate assigned telecommunications activities, including maintenance on the Nortel phone system, within the corporation.
- Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program for all the company owned telephone systems.
- Provide 2nd level support and technical guidance to IT staff for enterprise telecommunication systems and services.
- Maintain service records (call volume, traffic and call auditing) and prepare required reports relevant to the operations of telecommunications.
- Read technical manuals and brochures to determine equipment that meets establishment requirements.
- Provide and maintain the telecommunication budget.
- Maintain call accounting systems.
Secondary Job Duties will include:
- Cross-train in Unix/Linux, Windows and Helpdesk Administration.
- Performs other duties as assigned or as judgment or necessity dictates.

Job Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of five years of general telecommunications and Nortel Meridian technical experience.
- Knowledge of advanced telecommunications equipment systems such as T1, fiber optics, CSU\DSU equipment and wireless communications.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to organize work and priorities while exercising individual initiative.
- Understand accepted principles of wiring codes; can visually interpret wire colors.
- Must be flexible and able to be on-call and work unusual hours when emergencies occur.
- Interact effectively with all levels of personnel, including users, management, vendors and sub-contractors.
- Local and out of town travel may be necessary.
