Salary / Pay Rate : $25000/year.
This is a position with the Navy Marine Corps Intranet. The position offers an opportunity to the qualifying candidates to attain SECRET / TOP SECRET security Clearance.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITY
* Perform the installation, configuration, and tuning as well as ongoing maintenance of client and 3rd party product components and subsystems for all client organizations * Setup and maintain various desktops, workstations, and servers. * Respond to system failures and work to resolve issues related to desktops and applications. * Perform regularly scheduled hardware and software maintenance as well as configuration backups. * Analyze and resolve product support deficiencies. * Maintain and enhance personal technical skills (breadth and depth) to support the test lab computing needs of the IT Infrastructure at site. * Responsible for ensuring timely process through which problems are controlled. Position requires problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up steps. * Must be able to resolve less complex problems immediately, and escalate more complex problems to Senior Level for resolution. Typically involves use of problem management database and help desk system. * Troubleshoot problems with application servers, networks, mail services, web services, etc. * Maintain a broad knowledge of operating systems, programming languages and hardware. * Attends and actively participates in weekly meetings. * Enter trouble ticket Calls (Computer Trouble Calls) via telephone and/or email into the helpdesk ticketing System. * Maintain Point-of-contact (POC) lists for Systems Division members.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
* Minimum 4 - 12 Months of working with desktops, Windows NT, Windows Operating System, DOS, Internet, Intranet * Minimum 4 - 12 Months experience in the use and installation of Windows 2000 and/or XP. * Minimum 4 - 12 Months experience in the use and installation of the following application software: Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Strong understanding and demonstrated capability of desktop hardware and troubleshooting. * Basic Exchange server knowledge is preferred. * Pocket PC, Palm and/or Blackberry experience is preferred * Ghost and/or imaging experience * Experience configuring laptops, desktops, printers, card readers and scanners * Active Directory/User Manager experience a big plus * Working Knowledge of TCP/IP * Must have excellent problem solving and telephone customer service skills. Strong writing skills.
