We have an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer to work for our Federal Government client

JOB DESCRIPTION

Name : Applications System Engineer

Location : Office of Naval Intelligence, Suitland MD

Duration : 6+ (Contract to Hire)

No of Positions : 01

Citizenship : US Citizenship is Mandatory

Security Clearance : Top Secret with SCI

Role & Responsibility

Manage a deployed application, e.g. SeaPort, that operates on both Unix Database Servers and Windows J2EE Application Servers on multiple networks (6) for the purposes of:
? Account creation
? Security monitoring (including logs)
? Building and deployment of scripts requiring knowledge of Java/PHP and SQL.
? Generating ad-hoc and continuing reports
? Ability to bring up and shut down the system gracefully.
? Ability to apply system patches.
? Occasional scripting

Must have the following skills:
? Ability to perform basic systems administration for both Windows and Unix systems.
? Ability to build reports using SQL and Java/PHP provided templates.
? Basic organizational skills.

Desired Skillset:
? Java/PHP skills
? XML skills
? Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. CVS)
? Experience with oracle databases
? Experience with Pop mail
? Experience with JBoss
