Position Description :
1. Background/Introduction
The candidate will be responsible to provide Project Management support to USPS onsite at their IT Integrated Business System Solutions Center in Eagan, MN.
2. Scope of Work
Co-manage with USPS the Solaris to Linux Program Office and perform project management as needed for other project such as HRBI Phase 2 and other projects.
? Duties for Solaris to Linux include yet not limited to: Program Office Instantiation, Inventory creation, Application Scheduling, Capital asset assignment management, Standards management, Training material creation and coordination, multiple team coordination, travel planning, project oversight and planning consolidation in accordance with TSLC for multiple IT groups.
? Duties for project management include yet not limited to: Project Plan creation and management, Project coordination of IT and customer responsibilities and schedules. Prior Postal experience with implementing both Host Computing hardware servers and IBSSC applications systems as well as specific HRBI knowledge is more important than cost.
3. Job Requirements
? 5 years experience with Project Management.
? 2 years experience with deploying applications within the Postal Service environments.
? Experience with the policies and procedures of IT Host Computing.
? Experience with the policies and procedures of IT Database Support Services.
? Experience with the policies and procedures of IT Integrated Business System Solutions Centers.
? Experience with the policies and procedures of IT Enterprise Data Warehousing.
? Experience with the policies and procedures of IT Change Management.
? Experience with USPS Human Resource Business Intelligence (HRBI) System?s ETL (Extraction, Transformation, and Load) processes.
? Experience with the policies and procedures of IT Technology Services Life Cycle (TSLC ) and creation of TSLC compliant documentation.
? Experience with developing Unix scripting and database queries, and running Unix operating systems, databases, and web technologies.
? Experience creating and maintaining project plans, inventories, process flows, system and testing documentation.
? Experience using Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, MS Project, and Visio.
3. Additional Requirements
? Ability to work at a client site with minimal supervision.
? Ability to work independently through self-directed activities and as part of a team.
? Ability to work in a client managed environment complying with USPS standards and guidelines, Postal Service Security Policies, procedures and applicable federal laws.
? Excellent customer service skills.
? Strong verbal and written communication skills.
? Ability to provide progress and status reports both written and orally.
4. USPS Clearance Requirements:
? Pass the mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit check.
? If a candidate is given an interim clearance, continuation of employment is then based on the candidate receiving a sensitive clearance.
