Job Description: Place of Performance Work shall be performed in Government space in Building 20 of the Denver Federal Center, Lakewood, CO. field work in remote locations may occur.
GWI is looking for a Geophysical Technician to support one of our end client in CO.
Scope The contractor shall provide services required to perform the tasks delineated below. Qualifications for these services include field and classroom experience in volcanic processes, particularly in the Washington Cascade Range, geophysical data collection on volcanoes (in particular GPR), computer data processing and measurement of paleomagnetic rock properties. A BS in Geology with geophysics classes is required. Experience with ArcGIS and Geosoft Oasis Montaj and familiarity with aeromagnetic data are desired.
a). The Crustal Imaging and Characterization Team (CICT) Fire and Ice task of the Integrated Methods project and the NSF Antarctic sub-ice geology projects have the need of assistance in collection, processing and analysis of geophysical data in support of hazards, water and mineral resource studies in modern and ancient volcanic terranes. b) Non Personal Services The personnel contracted for will not serve under a personal service contract. The nature of the position (s) is not inherently governmental. Government personnel will not supervise contractor personnel.

Requirements: Geophysical Technician Duties: The Contractor shall provide support services to include the following: Analyses of magnetic rock properties using susceptibility meters from Mts. Baker, Adams and Rainier volcanoes, processing of magnetic data from Mt. Baker and Mt. Adams Volcanoes, WA, Macquarie Island (basaltic shield volcano) and Antarctica with Geosoft Oasis Montaj; compile GPR and magnetic data into a GIS for the Antarctic data with ArcGIS software; and collate existing magnetic data coverage in selected global locations in a database for the Global Mineral Resource Assessment Project using Oasis Montaj and ArcGIS. If funding permits, may help collect and process magnetic and gravity data on Mt. Baker using Oasis Montaj software, WA; and as part of a field crew, help collect magnetic data in support of water resource studies
