Job Description: ? Review technical drawings to ensure that various disciplines are coordinated, NYS Uniform fire prevention & building code are met, scope is accurately reflected, and critical elements are constructable. ? Review consultant-design proposals, plans, drawings, and specification development ? facilitate feedback from in-house communications staff ? Represent the interests, technical issues and concerns of the communications department during working group sessions comprised of consultants and multi-disciplinary NYCT technical staff (i.e., electrical, mechanical, architecture, etc.) throughout design development ? Prepare and review biddable contract specifications of the work which shall include equipment performance specifications, operational descriptions, user requirements, system capabilities, and requirements ? Prepare specifications in the Authority?s standard format. Master specifications, standard drawings, scopes of work and applicable design drawings are available for inspection at the offices of Communications Engineering at 2 Broadway. ? Preparation of contract drawings indicating passenger station equipment and communications room layouts, and passenger station cabling/conduit/raceways, ? Facilitate multi-disciplinary coordination with project team, in-house staff and user groups throughout design development
All activities above to be conducted within the constraints of aggressive project design schedules.

Experience Level: 5+ Years
Requirements: Engineering experience in electrical design and/or system integration. Project coordination and construction/field experience desirable.
Design experience with as many of the following systems: ? Voice/video/data network infrastructure (SONET/ATM preferred); ? RF ? wireless communication systems; ? Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems; ? Public Address systems; ? Electronic Signage / Customer Information Displays; ? Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems; ? Fire & life safety alarm systems; ? Telephone/Intercom systems
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills mandatory. Organizational skills and multi-tasking ability required. A working knowledge of National Electric Code, New York State Building Code and NFPA 130 desirable. A working knowledge of PC applications required, as well as experience writing technical equipment specifications using Microsoft Office Suite. CADD experience highly desirable.
