Job Description: 6 months contract assignment for an experienced Accounting / Financial Systems Analyst with a background in financial reporting system support.
BASIC FUNCTION:
Supports the data processing and reporting activities in the Gas Accounting department. Performs full range of analytical analyses to support department?s internal and external reporting responsibilities.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Coordinates with the IT department to maintain the performance of the financial reporting tools and investigates and resolves data integrity issues.
? Supports margin analysis through the use of various data query tools.
? Develops and maintains the financial systems to support data integration between various programs and databases. Resolves and reconciles differences.
? Obtains understanding of various reporting needs across the Company and assists users to develop appropriate reports, including but not limited to the development of standardized reporting templates and ad hoc informational reporting needs.
? Maintains the financial reporting systems end-user training guide and trains new users as needed.
? Develops recommendations for improving the reporting capabilities of the department, including but not limited to report formatting, content and methods of distribution.
? Coordinates with the IT department to implement new reporting needs and to trouble shoot issues as they arise.
? Assists and reconciles the fiscal year budget into financial reporting systems. Coordinates with the planning department and the various business units to facilitate this process.
? Performs other related duties as required.
Experience Level: 5+ Years
Requirements: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
? Masters degree in accounting, finance or business administration and a minimum of three years experience in financial reporting system support, accounting, finance, auditing or financial reporting; or
? Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or business administration and a minimum of four years experience in financial reporting system support, accounting, finance, auditing or financial reporting.
Communication Skills:
Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or modifications on technical or other complex concepts.
Numeric Skills:
Requires the ability to review and perform moderately complex financial and/or accounting methods.
Computer Skills:
Requires advanced knowledge of various software applications to create documents, reports and/or graphics.
Requires ability to use a variety of data query tools (Essbase, SQL, Oracle Discoverer, Crystal Reports).
Requires advanced knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel.
