Job Description:
A leading Staffing Firm in Midtown Manhattan is seeking Desktop Support Technician - A+, LAN, TCP/IP. The work Hours will be from 7a.m. to 3 p.m. or from 9a.m to 5p.m. YOU MUST ALSO BE ABLE TO WORK ON-CALL ASSIGNMENTS (SOME TRAVEL BETWEEN FACILITIES/SITES ALSO REQUIRED)

Position Purpose and Responsibilities:
* Supporting Our Employees for Desktop PC hardware and software support needs.
* Assisting Systems Administrator(s) and Telecom Systems Administrator(s) with End User Administration and Systems Support.
The position requires to provide pager support during off hours and emergencies. It also requires the balance of technical expertise, Task Management and teamwork, while serving Our Employees internal and external customers.

Position Characteristics:
This is a technical individual contributor position with responsibility for responding to employees and management requests for support and for cooperative support of other IT professionals in support of IT initiatives and goals.

Essential Functions:
* Assumes responsibility for installation, upgrade and overall maintenance of PC desktop systems, software and peripherals.
* Sets up and manages resources for desktop PCs.
* Ensures that appropriate desktop virus/security restrictions meet Company policies.
* Maintains the inventory for all owned or leased IT equipment.
* Within established procedures, responds to End User requests for technical support and assistance.
* Diagnoses and troubleshoots problems with PCs, software, communications devices, servers and network connections as required.
* Assumes responsibility for:
* User Account Management
* AD/Domain Accounts
* Email Accounts
* Security Administration
* Other User Account Administration Tasks
* Provides support and assistance to System Administrator(s), Network Engineer(s) and Telecommunications Systems staff in the delivery of End User support and Systems Maintenance.
* Effectively communicates and collaborates with Managers and Administrative staff in support of business objectives.
* Performs additional related duties as requested.
Position-Specific Mental, Visual and/or Physical Demands:
The position requires occasional fixed-position activities with repetitive motion. The nature and character of work is usually varied. Required are:
* Lifting in the 40-60 pound range
* Use of hand tools

A+ Certification, Hardware/Software, Windows 2000/XP Professional,
Windows Vista Business, TCP/IP, Local Area Networking, LAN
1-3 years of experience

Required Skills for this Desktop Support Technician position include the following:
* 1-3 years of experience
* Significant experience in the troubleshooting of PC hardware and software
* A+ Certification and/or similar certification of proficiency in Hardware Repairpreferredand/or work experience in related technical field(s)
* Significant range and depth of Microsoft Operating Systems, particularly:
* Windows 2000 Professional
* Windows XP Professional
* Other operating systems as they relate to:
* Software Installation
* Support
* Local Area Networking (LAN)
* Experience with Image and Software Deployment tools
* Experience working with Microsoft Server Operating Systems, Active Directory (AD) and Exchange
* Familiarity with TCP/IP and Network Equipment, including Routers and Switches
* Aptitude and ability to master technical information
* Demonstrated skills in the following:
* Customer Service
* Communication
* Listening
* Analytical
* Associates Degree and/or equivalent
* Must be able to lift in the 40-60 pound
