How to Eliminate Rollercoaster Revenue

For too many owners the recruiting business feels a lot like an involuntary roller coaster ride. The highs feel exhilarating, but the lows make you feel like you’re going to puke.

Early in my career I was lucky to receive a very simple prescription for how to avoid this monthly ride. It can be stated as a simple axiom:

Do a little bit of each part of the business everyday.

This means you do some marketing, some recruiting, some sourcing, some closing, some planning etc. everyday.

How much time you spend in each category does fluctuate, but that doesn’t mean you stop anything altogether.

In the same way that a body builder doesn’t just work his biceps and expect to have a balanced physique, we can’t just focus on filling existing searches (while neglecting everything else) and expect to have consistent revenue.

Another axiom that might help you really internalize this concept is this;

Great recruiters make a daily habit of the things that average recruiters do every so often.

Try implementing this new approach and watch your revenue become more predictable and reliable.
