Staff Accountant

Job Summary

Rippe is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team in our fast paced, growing organization. The Staff Accountant will keep the company and clients' numbers and budgets on track with unwavering accuracy. The most successful candidate will have a natural passion for math, and a strong understanding of the intricacies of fixed assets, pre-paids, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, and other financial transactions within an organization. He or she will play an enormously important supportive role, keeping our company and clients' financial outlook bright with precision and proactive measures.

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio

Success in this role means you will:

  • Own day-to-day accounting work including AP/AR; bill payments; receiving payments; month-end close including bank and account reconciliations; invoicing;
  • Execute mid-level general ledger account reconciliations, accurate reporting, and data verification, enabling senior staff to analyze options and make financial decisions aligned with company objectives
  • Identify and suggest improvements for accounting reporting and recording procedures
  • Comply with federal, state, and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation, and maintaining compliance

  • Comfortable interfacing with all levels of the organization and does so in a manner that gains confidence and trust
  • Experience working within a complex, dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable using various technology platforms and tools
  • Strong initiative and the ability to rise to a challenge
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, responsive and persistent

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and 3-5 years' experience
  • Knowledge of revenue recognition accounting and new ASC 606 regulation
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Knowledge of financial systems, preferably NetSuite
  • Understanding of financial statements & core finance/accounting concepts
  • Excel knowledge specifically in v lookup, pivot tables and overall data analysis
