Primary responsibilities include root cause failure analysis of electronic, mechanical and or electromechanical components including assemblies. Specific responsibilities include testing and troubleshooting products at the component and assembly level, deprocessing and analysis of components and assemblies for internal analysis, theoretical knowledge of various analytical tools including electrical test equipment, optical microscopes, Real Time x-ray, scanning electron microscopes, chemical analysis equipment and other testing and analysis tools. The preparation of formal analysis reports will be required. Good interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills are essential. Applicant will work with a team of other Raytheon engineers, technicians and subject matter experts of various engineering disciplines to resolve failures and manufacturing issues.

The candidate is expected to work on his or her own analyses with minimal direction and oversight. The candidate will be required to multi-task and prioritize work to meet schedule and cost needs. The candidate will work independently to solve problems and communicate solutions to both co-workers and program customers. Candidate will work directly with customers to collect background history and details leading to component failure, perform nondestructive and formulate plan to destructively confirm hypothesis leading to root cause. Duties include the presentation of analysis results to Raytheon s program personnel, component manufacturers, and customers.

Required Skills
  • At least 8 years of experience working in a component-level analytical lab or an electrical test lab.
  • At least 8 years of experience associated with failure assessment, planning, and resolution.
  • At least 8 years in the engineering field.
  • U. S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U. S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
  • U. S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor s degree in electrical, mechanical, or material science engineering and 6 years of experience in component test and analysis lab. BA in Electronics Engineering and 8 years of experience in Failure Analysis test lab.
